Welcome to the Stadium Tour Council website!!
Mission statement:
To visit every NFL football stadium in the National Football League in search of the perfect tailgate, nightlife and stadium experience. Our trip is scheduled in conjunction with Veterans Day weekend so we can honor those who fought for our freedom.
History:
The STC was born in 2002 on a trip to Tampa, Florida. Two of the guys (Mike and Garry) decided to fly down to Tampa for a Bruce Springsteen concert. In planning the trip we thought it would be fun to catch a Buccaneers game and it just so happened the Bucs were at home playing the Packers. Two more guys joined the trip (John and Frank) and the weekend was a blast. The four of us had a meager tailgate of Hooters wings, beer, and chips out of the trunk of the rental car. After the game was over (Bucs won 21 to 7) we raced over to the Ice Palace Arena for the Springsteen show. In 2003 the same four guys decided to go New Orleans for a Saints/Falcons game. While at a raw bar having oysters and beer, the idea of an annual trip to a different NFL stadium came up. After a few more beers we decided to call ourselves the Stadium Tour Council and the name stuck. The following year Andy and Nicky joined the trip in Cleveland. The rest is his-tor-y!

Minnesota!
Minnesota! After a warm weather double up last year in Atlanta and Charlotte, we changed gears and hit the frigid temps in Minneapolis. We were hoping to try some ice fishing, snowmobiling, or dog sledding but since we were in the shoulder season those options weren't quite available yet. So, we had to settle for diners, bars, breweries! We had a great time hitting Psycho Suzie's Tiki Bar (which had been converted into Mary's Christmas Palace for the season), Dangerous Man Brewing, and the 5-8 Club for a Juicy Lucy! We considered going to see the Golden Gophers play Iowa, but with the temps at around 12 degrees that day the vote was 6-0 for bar hopping instead. The Minnesota Wild hosted the STC for the hockey game and brought home a win. We're sorry to say the Vikings did not fare as well against the Cowboys. But where else would a STC member dance with a Santa Claus dressed in purple?

We're heading to the west coast to see the Commanders take on the Seahawks. Should be a great trip as most of the STC has never been to the Seattle area. AND, most of us happen to be Commanders (Redskins) fans. So we'll see how it goes if we decide to wear our old Redskins jerseys. We're looking forward to hitting the bars and restaurants as usual, but we may hit a Washington Huskies football game or a Seattle Kracken hockey game. Can't wait! |
